About the Golf Club
Golfclub am Sachsenwald e.V. is located in Dassendorf in the Hamburg & North Sea region (Schleswig-Holstein). The facility has 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 1985.
Location and Surroundings
The golf club is located in Dassendorf, about 30 minutes by car east of central Hamburg, in the middle of nature. The club grounds are situated at the south-eastern edge of the Sachsenwald, the largest contiguous forest area in Schleswig-Holstein at around 70 square kilometres, where a healthy climate and fresh forest air accompany your day of golf. Today's 18-hole course was created on meadows and farmland at the edge of the Sachsenwald; not far from the golf course lies a megalithic tomb, the so-called "Riesenbett", which gave the clubhouse "Jagdhaus am Riesenbett" its name. Those arriving turn off shortly after leaving Dassendorf, directly in front of the edge of the forest.
The Course
The 18-hole course is rated at par 72 and measures 5.324 to 6.087 meters.
The 18-hole championship course (par 72), managed as "demanding but fair", was laid out so skilfully by the golf architect that crossing streams, ponds, biotopes, bunkers, roughs and sloping greens on the gently undulating terrain challenge even players with a low handicap. From the long, spacious holes, a wide view of the Sachsenwald opens up.
Facilities and Dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, a putting green and a practice bunker. In the clubhouse "Jagdhaus am Riesenbett", Fabio Di Nardo Di Maio pampers guests in the "Ristorante am Riesenbett", the favourite Italian restaurant at the golf course, with Italian specialities; the club terrace invites you to linger.
Guests and Green Fees
The green fee is €85 on weekdays and €100 on weekends. Guests are subject to a handicap limit of -45.
