Location and surroundings
The golf club lies only 5 km as the crow flies west of the Graz clock tower, in the middle of a protected landscape directly next to the Thalersee, nestled between downy oak woods and near-natural wetlands in the western hill country of Graz. From Graz the facility is reachable in 15 minutes, and it is 6.8 road kilometres to the centre of the old town of Graz. The holes offer views of Thal with its castle, the Thalgraben valley, the Gösting castle ruin and the Schöckl towards eastern Styria; on holes 13 and 14 a 180-degree panorama opens up over the Koralm, Pack and Gleinalm regions.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range, putting green, chipping green, practice bunkers and a pro shop. In the shady courtyard of the legendary "19th hole" — the club restaurant Windhof — you can enjoy refreshments, a well-kept glass of wine and specialities from the kitchen, plus the atmospheric roof terrace.
