Location and surroundings
Golfclub Thalersee lies only 5 km as the crow flies west of the Graz clock tower in the middle of a protected landscape, directly next to the Thalersee and nestled between downy oak woods and the near-natural wetlands of the western hill country of Graz. From the course the view extends over Thal with its castle, the Thalgraben valley, the Gösting castle ruin and the Schöckl towards eastern Styria; on holes 13 and 14 a 180-degree panorama opens up over the Koralm, Pack and Gleinalm regions in western Styria. It is 6.8 road kilometres to the old town of Graz, and the 9-hole Steinfeld course is reachable from Graz in 15 minutes.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range, putting green, chipping green, practice bunkers and a pro shop. In the shady courtyard lies the club restaurant "19th hole" at the Windhof (listed as Gollner19) with 70 seats on the club terrace.
