About the Golf Club
Diamond Club Ottenstein is located in Rastenfeld. The facility has 18 holes.
Location and surroundings
Diamond Club Ottenstein is located in the northern Waldviertel in the north of Lower Austria, at the address Niedergrünbach 60 in Rastenfeld. Fresh air and a northern-style landscape shape the surroundings — here lies the golfing dream in the romantic Waldviertel. From Vienna you travel via the A22 and S5 to Krems and on via the B37 towards Zwettl to the Marbach im Felde Niedergrünbach exit; from Salzburg via the A1 to St. Pölten and the S33 to Krems.
The course
The design is by Keith Preston, Hans-Georg Erhardt.
The first nine holes were designed by architect Keith Preston and have been played there since 1991; the second nine were designed by architect Hans-Georg Erhardt in 1995. The immaculately maintained 18-hole Bird Course offers memorable holes, six greens with water hazards, gentle water features and wide fairways in a varied design.
Facilities and dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, practice bunker and indoor simulator. The club restaurant Herbert Hettegger — Austria's golf restaurant of the year 2015, 2022 and 2023 — serves hearty Waldviertel specialities, and sunsets can be enjoyed on the sun terrace.
