Golf- & Land-Club Kronberg e.V.

Golf- & Land-Club Kronberg e.V. is located in Kronberg im Taunus in the Rhine-Main & Hesse region (Hesse). The facility comprises 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 1954.

Location and Surroundings

The facility is located at Schloss Friedrichshof at Hainstraße 25 in Kronberg/Ts.; the 18 holes lie partly in the park of Schloss Friedrichshof and partly on the adjacent grounds. Empress Victoria had the castle built in 1889 as a dowager's residence, and the park, planted back then with noble shrubs and valuable exotic trees, now forms part of the golf course. The nature experience in a castle park with exotic giant trees and flowering rhododendron bushes is particularly pronounced in Kronberg. The club can be reached via the B 455 at the Kronberg-Stadtmitte exit; it has its own car park signposted as "Golferparkplatz" (golfers' car park).

The Course

The 18-hole course has a par of 68 and measures 4,444 to 4,939 metres. The course was designed by Ernst Kothe.

The narrow fairways, bordered by trees and shrubs, demand precise, straight shots; the greens are defended by numerous bunkers; and the slightly hilly terrain with its slopes does not make the par-68 course (4939 m men, 4444 m ladies) any easier. The course was laid out by Ernst Kothe with special care to preserve the magnificent tree stock.

Facilities and Dining

For practice, a driving range and pro shop are available. In the Club-Casino, the casino team led by restaurateur Maxim Soldatov serves a daily menu, hearty home-style cooking and the Saturday stew; during the golf season it is open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00, with Monday as the day of rest.

Guests and Green Fees

The green fee is €90 on weekdays and €105 on weekends. Guests are subject to a handicap limit of -36.
