New Course Royal Homburger Golf Club 1899 e.V. is located in Bad Homburg in the Rhein-Main & Hessen region (Hesse). The facility has an 18-hole parkland course. Golf has been played here since 1889.
Location and surroundings
The New Course lies in Bad Homburg on the Röderwiesen, on the slopes of the Taunus below the Saalburg. Eighteen holes lead between ponds, streams and tall trees, and numerous endangered plant and animal species have their home on the course. From hole 16, whose tee is 30 m higher than the actual grounds, the view extends as far as the Frankfurt skyline, the Spessart and the Odenwald.
The course
The design is by A. Klapproth.
The 18-hole parkland course (yellow length 4392 m, total area 48 ha) was designed by A. Klapproth. Doglegs, ponds, strategically placed bunkers and sometimes quite narrow fairways demand precise play and a sophisticated course strategy — a course that counts among the truly demanding ones in Germany.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range and an indoor simulator. Dining at the New Course is the restaurant "Passions" (Tuesday to Sunday 12:00 to 22:00, kitchen until 21:00, closed on Mondays); the club also has clubhouses with an excellent dining offer and a club terrace.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is €35 on weekdays and €45 on weekends.
