About the Golf Club
Golfclub Essen-Heidhausen e. V. is located in Essen in the Ruhr area & Westphalia region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility has 27 holes. Golf has been played here since 1970.
Location and surroundings
Founded in 1970, Golfclub Essen-Heidhausen lies idyllically in the south of Essen within a protected landscape area, on hilly ground at the highest point of the city of Essen. The facility is located at Preutenborbeckstraße 36 (45239 Essen). The 27-hole facility in Heidhausen allows three different 18-hole combinations.
The course
The design is credited to Donald Harradine.
The 18 holes of the South Course blend harmoniously into the hilly terrain grown with old trees, while the nine holes of the North Course, opened in May 1999, are ideal for a quick round in the evening. The attractive 9-hole Schauinsland course lies right by the clubhouse, two ponds sit on the renovated holes 14 and 15 of the Hespertal course, and guests can play demanding 18-hole Bundesliga rounds as well as relaxed 9-hole rounds.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range, putting green, practice bunker and indoor simulator. The clubhouse includes a restaurant with club terrace where carts and tokens for the driving range are also available; the club is catered by restaurateur Gerd Dimsat.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is €70 on weekdays and €60 at weekends. Guests are subject to a handicap limit of -45.
