About the Golf Club
Krefelder Golfclub e.V. is located in Krefeld in the Ruhr area & Westphalia region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility has 18 holes in parkland style. Golf has been played here since 1930.
Location and surroundings
The facility of the Krefelder Golf Club e.V. is located at Eltweg 2, 47809 Krefeld-Linn. The holes are set into the flat Lower Rhine landscape and lie in a former loop of the Rhine, shaped by the typical landscape structures of the left bank of the Lower Rhine. The terrain presents itself with spacious fairways, unique trees and challenging holes.
The course
Karl Hoffmann and Bernhard von Limburger are responsible for the design.
The present course was built in 1939/1940 by the golf course architects Karl Hoffmann and Bernhard von Limburger and is considered one of the most beautiful parkland courses in Germany thanks to its old trees. Characteristic are the number and placement of the bunkers, long par 4 holes and small, slightly raised greens; each of the 18 holes brings its own challenges, from skilfully placed bunkers and tricky doglegs to demanding water hazards.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range and a practice bunker. The Linner Golf Restaurant, run by Issam Abdullah, has an indoor area, a lawn terrace and a covered terrace that is heated in winter.
