About the Golf Club

Golfclub Föhr e.V. is located in Nieblum in the Hamburg & North Sea region (Schleswig-Holstein). The facility has 27 holes in links style. Golf has been played here since 1925.

Location and surroundings

The golf resort lies on the island of Föhr in the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site, surrounded by dunes, heathland, biotopes and woods. You arrive by ferry from Dagebüll to Föhr; from the ferry port the route heads towards Nieblum, after approx. 3 km the access road turns off towards the airfield, and after another approx. 2 km the entrance lies directly behind the airfield grounds. A small airfield is located right next to the golf course.

The course

The design is credited to Christian Althaus.

The 27-hole course combines coastal holes laid out in links style — with dunes, gorse, heathland, marram grass and plenty of water — with a course design modelled on the North German geest landscape, complete with ponds and sandy wasteland areas. Architect Donald Harradine was responsible for the extension to 18 holes, and Christian Althaus led the later redesigns.

Facilities and dining

For practice there is a driving range and a pro shop. Club restaurateur Santos Paredes and his team welcome members and guests with a varied menu in the restaurant and on the sunny terrace with wonderful views.

You can book tee times at Golfclub Föhr e.V. directly online — all prices, contact details and courses in the area can be found here at a glance.
