Location and surroundings

Golfclub Hannover lies in Garbsen in the Hanover region, on the site of the Garbsener Schweiz – a ridge of hills in the south-west of Garbsen, bounded by the Blauer See lake to the east, the A2 motorway to the north and the Neustadt-Stöckener-Leinetal. The wooded course lies in an ice-age terminal moraine landscape with hilly relief and old trees; the entire grounds are leased from the Lower Saxony state forests. The facility can be reached via the A2: from the Garbsen exit, signposting leads towards the Blauer See recreation area.

The course

The 18-hole course is rated at par 71.

The par 71 course demands precise play rather than length and an intelligent strategy; conceived from the outset as a classic English parkland course, it was built to plans by H.E. Gaertner (1951-56) and extended to 18 holes under the direction of Bernhard von Limburger. The greens are usually well defended by bunkers, and all holes except today's 6th curve from right to left, thus favouring the draw player.

Facilities and dining

For practice, a pro shop is available. The club restaurant is open from 11:00-21:00 (hot food until 20:00), and from the clubhouse terrace you look out over the 9th and 18th greens.

The green fee is €70 on weekdays and €80 on weekends.
