About the Golf Club
Golfclub Ortenau e.V. is located in Lahr/Schwarzwald in the Stuttgart & Baden-Württemberg region (Baden-Württemberg). The facility has 18 holes.
Location and Surroundings
Golf Club Ortenau lies in Lahr-Reichenbach in the Black Forest, in the heart of the Ortenau region between the Rhine and the Black Forest. Dense mixed woodland and open beech forest surround the Gereuter valley, through which the golf course, adapted to the landscape, leads past secluded farmsteads with open meadows. Not far from the golf club, the Hohengeroldseck castle ruin, the landmark of the region, rises on the Seelbacher Schönberg between the Schutter and Kinzig valleys. Direct neighbouring communities are the climatic health resort of Seelbach, Schuttertal and the municipality of Friesenheim.
The Course
The 18-hole course is rated at 95 to 7,215 metres.
As the oldest golf club in the Ortenau, the club founded in 1979 combines sporting challenge with impressive nature on its varied 18-hole course — every hole has its own character. The Gereutertalbach stream, ponds and water hazards shape the facility, which is adapted to the landscape; from the highest point of the golf course at hole 10, a wonderful view of the Geroldseck castle ruin rewards the climb.
Facilities and Dining
For practice, there is a driving range and a practice bunker. In the clubhouse, the Ristorante Pizzeria Tre Fratelli cooks Italian cuisine, and the large sun terrace invites you to linger after your round.
