Freiburger Golfclub

Freiburger Golfclub is located in Kirchzarten in the Stuttgart & Baden-Württemberg region (Baden-Württemberg). The facility comprises 18 holes in parkland style. Golf has been played here since 1970.

Location and Surroundings

Freiburger Golfclub is located in Kirchzarten, just a few kilometres east of Freiburg, at the foot of the Hochschwarzwald (High Black Forest) in the wide valley of the Dreisam. The Dreisam valley offers views of the surrounding ridges, and farmland stretches all around the course. The entire site lies within the water protection area of the city of Freiburg and its surrounding municipalities.

The Course

The 18-hole course has a par of 72 and measures 4,501 to 5,864 metres.

The flat 18-hole parkland course was founded in 1970 as a 9-hole course and renovated in 2019 and 2020; it has a park-like character with many, often centuries-old trees, some of which are designated natural monuments. Numerous natural watercourses cross or touch the holes and make the fairly demanding course a tactically varied challenge – for its environmental course programme, the club has held the German Golf Association's "Golf & Natur" (Golf & Nature) certificate in gold since 2022.

Facilities and Dining

For practice, a driving range, putting green, practice bunker, indoor simulator and pro shop are available. The Patcharawadee Thai Cuisine has been serving Thai dishes and regional delicacies since the 2017 season, in summer on the large club terrace with views of the course.

Guests and Green Fees

The green fee is €80 on weekdays and €110 on weekends. For guests, a handicap limit applies: HCPI 54 on weekdays, HCPI 36 on weekends/public holidays.
