Mittelrheinischer Golfclub Bad Ems e.V. is located in Bad Ems in the Rhineland region (Rhineland-Palatinate). The facility has 18 holes in parkland style. Golf has been played here since 1928.

Location and surroundings

The 18-hole facility lies in the middle of the Rhineland on the Denzerheide between Koblenz, Bad Ems and Montabaur, about 370 m above the steeply falling Rhine and Lahn valleys — quiet and secluded, yet conveniently located between the A48 and the A3, just a few minutes' drive from Koblenz. From the generously laid-out holes that blend into the landscape and are framed by old trees, panoramic views open up over the Rhenish uplands with the Hunsrück, Eifel and Westerwald. Of the total area of around 80 ha, about 70% consists of near-natural compensation areas made up mainly of unmanaged woodland; tended ponds and streams are also part of it.

The 18-hole facility in "parkland design" with tricky fairways and obstacles such as ponds, bunkers and bushes is considered quite demanding to play. Built between 1928 and 1930 by internationally renowned golf architects for Staatsbad Bad Ems GmbH, the course is the oldest in Rhineland-Palatinate; in recent years, numerous holes have been given a "facelift".

Facilities and dining

For practice there is a driving range, a putting green, a chipping green and a practice bunker. In the Gasthof Denzerheide, the restaurant serves traditional Greek and German cuisine, and in summer a spacious garden terrace with direct views of the golf facility invites you to linger.
