Golfclub Rhein-Wied e. V. is located in Neuwied in the Rhineland region (Rhineland-Palatinate). The facility has 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 1987.

Location and surroundings

The golf club lies high above the Rhine between Koblenz and Neuwied, set into the wooded landscape of the Rhine Valley at the foothills of the Westerwald. The hilly topography offers panoramic views over the Rhine plain as far as the Eifel and the Hunsrück at many points. The secluded and quiet location guarantees a restful, relaxed round of golf free of traffic noise. Only around 40% of the 76 ha golf facility is played; the rest remains a near-natural retreat for animals and plants.

The course

The 18-hole course has a par of 72 and measures 5,008 to 5,629 metres.

The sporting, demanding and harmoniously designed 18-hole course (par 72, 5008 m or 5629 m) is a challenge for golfers of all abilities with its slightly hilly, varied fairways. Narrow holes, sidehill lies, woodland, rough and strategically well-placed bunkers shape the game; holes 10 to 12 lead through a gorge (Valley of Tears) to the lowest point of the facility, and hole 14 plays as a par 3 alongside a lateral pond.

Facilities and dining

For practice, there is a driving range, putting green, chipping green and pro shop. The spacious clubhouse includes a main terrace with views of the 18th green, another terrace at the 9th green and a dining room with a glass front and views across holes 17 and 18 towards the Rhine plain; above the 18th green there is also the restaurant terrace with views of the left bank of the Rhine.

Guests and green fees

The green fee is 80 € on weekdays and 90 € on weekends.
