About the Golf Club
Strandgrün Golf-& Spa Resort Timmendorfer Strand is located in Timmendorfer Strand in the Hamburg & North Sea region (Schleswig-Holstein). The facility has 36 holes.
Location and surroundings
The golf facility lies on the Baltic Sea coast, in the middle of the idyllic landscape of Timmendorfer Strand, at the address Am Golfplatz 3. With 2 x 18 holes, it is the largest golf facility in Schleswig-Holstein; the par 61 south course lies around the picturesque Oeverdieker See. The resort borders directly onto the fairways, the first tee is right next to the hotel, and the reception is located in the clubhouse on the course. Coming from the A1, the approach is via exit 18-Ratekau in the direction of Timmendorfer Strand.
The course
The course was designed by Dr. B. von Limburger.
Opened in 1973, the facility was designed by golf course architect Dr. Bernhard von Limburger and, as the only 36-hole facility in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, is divided into a north and a south course. The slightly hilly par 72 north course measures 6,311 metres and demands strategy, shot-making and length, while the 3,603-metre par 61 south course around the Oeverdieker See calls for precision.
Facilities and dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, indoor simulator and pro shop. In the clubhouse, the Windfang restaurant and its terrace serve up views of the Oeverdieker See and across the wide fairways, complemented by the Trattoria del Campo in the Friesenhaus.
