About the Golf Club
Golf- & Landclub Schmitzhof e.V. is located in Wegberg in the Rhineland region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility has 18 holes in parkland style.
Location and Surroundings
Golf- & Landclub Schmitzhof lies to the west of the Rhine in the Maas-Schwalm-Nette nature reserve, near the Dutch border. The facility is based at Arsbeckerstr. 160 in Wegberg - Merbeck. Here, golf, nature and community come together as one – in the middle of a landscape protected as a nature reserve.
The Course
The course was designed by Donald Harradine.
The 18-hole championship course (par 72), playable all year round, is flat, gets by with short distances between holes and features generous tree cover. In addition, there is a 6-hole course and a driving range with 25 tee positions, 6 of which are covered tee boxes.
Facilities and Dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, a chipping green and a pro shop. The restaurant René Stieler at the Schmitzhof is also open to non-members, and the spacious terrace offers an all-round view from the 18th green across the pitching green and the driving range.
