About the Golf Club
Golfanlage Hohwacht is located in Hohwacht (Baltic Sea) in the Hamburg & North Sea region (Schleswig-Holstein). The facility has 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 1992.
Location and Surroundings
Set across around 120 hectares, the Golfanlage Hohwacht lies idyllically on the large Binnensee, only a few minutes from Hohwacht Bay on the Baltic Sea, embedded in the gentle coastal landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. From hole 11, the view opens onto the 500-hectare Kronswarder nature reserve with the large Binnensee, which was still a bay of the Baltic Sea 100 years ago; in spring and autumn, thousands of geese and cranes rest here. Around 50 hectares of the total area are extensively maintained or left to themselves as biotopes, and about 150 fruit trees are spread across the course.
The Course
The 18-hole course is rated at par 73 and measures 4,198 to 6,000 metres.
The courses built and designed in 1992 stand out for their wide fairways: the Hohwacht course (par 73, 5988 metres) splits into an A round and a B round and, with 43 bunkers, an island green and plenty of water, offers challenge and playing pleasure. Added to this are the public 9-hole Neudorf course (par 32, 4198 metres) and the Golfodrom, unique in Schleswig-Holstein at 5 hectares, with 150 tee positions.
Facilities and Dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, a practice bunker and a pro shop. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00; on Mondays it is closed (kitchen closes at 20:30).
Guests and Green Fees
The green fee is €39 on weekdays and €49 on weekends.
