Golfclub am Reichswald e. V. is located in Nuremberg in the Franconia region (Bavaria). The facility has 18 holes in heathland countryside. Golf has been played here since 1960.

Location and Surroundings

Golf on the edge of the city: the facility lies in the middle of the forest, embedded in an idyllic wooded landscape directly on the outskirts of Nuremberg and just a stone's throw from the city — as the only golf club within the city area of Nuremberg. The course is an important natural area in the Nuremberg Reichswald and holds the gold certification of the quality management programme "Golf & Natur" of the German Golf Association (DGV). The official address is Schiestlstraße 100, 90427 Nürnberg; it is best approached via Nürnberg-Kraftshof. The recommended route from the north leads via the A3 Frankfurt/Passau, the Tennenlohe exit and the B4 towards Nuremberg (airport).

The Course

The design is credited to Bernhard von Limburger.

Designed by golf architect Bernhard von Limburger and extended by Thomas Himmel in 1988, the well-kept 18-hole course is considered athletically demanding and is of championship standard. Each of the 18 holes has its own character, is bordered left and right of the fairway by the typical Nuremberg "Steckalaswald" forest, and demands tactical play with water hazards, sand bunkers and narrow driving corridors.

Facilities and Dining

Practice facilities include a driving range and a practice bunker. In the club restaurant Eagle's Kitchen under head chef Christian Brieske, "Fränkisch Fine Dining" is served; after your round, the sunny terrace invites you to linger.

Guests and Green Fees

The green fee is €70. Guests are subject to a handicap limit of 45.
