About the Golf Club
Golfclub Herzogenaurach e.V. is located in Herzogenaurach in the Franconia region (Bavaria). The facility has 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 2003.
Location and surroundings
The 18-hole golf course lies embedded in the Franconian landscape to the south of Herzogenaurach; the club's address is Burgstall 1. Set in the natural hill landscape of Middle Franconia, the facility stretches out openly and generously over an area of more than 70 hectares. Hedgerows, herb and orchard meadows as well as ponds and streams shape the grounds; for this nature-friendly orientation, the club was awarded the gold certificate of the "Golf und Natur" (golf and nature) project of the German Golf Association.
The course
The design is by Carlo Knauss.
The 18-hole championship course, opened in 2003, was designed by former tour player Carlo Knauss and is demanding sportingly, yet fair. With 10 ponds, several streams, 58 bunkers, changes in elevation and natural roughs as well as fast, strongly undulating greens, it presents a varied course whose terrain formations were modelled as little as possible and blend harmoniously into the layout of the holes; four different tee options make it playable for every level of ability.
Facilities and dining
For practice, a driving range, a putting green, a chipping green and an indoor simulator are available. While the club is building a new clubhouse, the club restaurant is temporarily closed; completion is announced for May 2027.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is €80 on weekdays and €80 on weekends.
