About the Golf Club
Golfclub Gut Altentann is located in Henndorf am Wallersee. The facility has 18 holes. Golf has been played here since 1989.
Location and Surroundings
The golf club is located in Henndorf am Wallersee, Hof 54. The site has a long history: the knights' castle of the "von Tann" family was first documented as early as 1243, and the present-day site is a listed building. From the sun-drenched clubhouse terrace, the view extends across the golf facility to the mountains of Flachgau. On the course, the hundred-year-old trees were left standing, and a stream winds its way between the fairways.
The Course
The 18-hole course is rated with a par of 72 and measures 4,763 to 6,110 metres. The design is by Jack Nicklaus.
Founded in 1989, the par-72 course is the first 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus on the European continent and stands for golf architecture at its most accomplished. Holes 16, 17 and 18 of the Champion Course form a signature stretch inspired by the notorious "Bear Trap" in Palm Beach and adapted as the "Alpine Bear Trap".
Facilities and Dining
A driving range, practice bunker and pro shop are available for practice. In the restaurant Tannenfischer, Jill and Christian serve their guests on the sun-drenched terrace with a view over the golf facility and the mountains of Flachgau.
