About the Golf Club
Golfclub Lohersand e.V. is located in Lohe-Föhrden in the Hamburg & North Sea region (Schleswig-Holstein). The facility has 18 holes in heathland. Golf has been played here since 1959.
Location and surroundings
Golf Club Lohersand lies in the middle of the "Lohersand" nature reserve in the Loher Heide, between Rendsburg and Schleswig in the picturesque landscape of Schleswig-Holstein. The facility extends over 70 hectares of varied heathland, woodland and water landscapes, set in gentle dune scenery with inland dunes, mature trees and wide heathland areas. Thanks to the sandy soil, the course stays in excellent condition even in wet weather and is playable all year round. Far from everyday stress and traffic noise, the club lies in quiet heathland.
The course
The course was designed by David Krause.
The 18-hole championship course began as a 9-hole course designed by the renowned golf course architect Dr. Bernhard von Limburger and was expanded in 2000 by nine further holes designed by the American golf course architect David Krause, a student of Robert Trent Jones. The new holes are characterised by water hazards, biotopes and bunker landscapes; the course lies in quiet heathland, is criss-crossed by watercourses and is down-to-earth and charming.
Facilities and dining
Practice facilities include practice bunkers. The club restaurant "Taverna Anthos" serves Mediterranean cuisine with a Greek flair right at the golf course and is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is €80 on weekdays and €90 on weekends.
