About the Golf Club
Golfclub Winterberg e.V. is located in Winterberg in the Ruhr area & Westphalia region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility has 9 holes. Golf has been played here since 1962.
Location and surroundings
Golfclub Winterberg lies in the Sauerland and operates the highest golf course in NRW. The 9-hole tournament course is set in fantastic nature that has grown over decades, far from any hustle and bustle. The facility also includes the public OPEN 9 course for beginners as well as pitch&putt and swingolf facilities.
The course
The design is by Bernhard von Limburger.
The course plays over sloping fairways with a pond, a water ditch and dangerous pot bunkers; hole 8 climbs a full 183 metres up the mountain, and the seventh hole is considered the most difficult on the course. With the "Schanze" and "Bob" courses, the 9-hole tournament course can be played from different tees like an 18-hole course, and in places McKenzie greens with a large step are on the programme.
Facilities and dining
For practice, a driving range, a putting green and a chipping green are available. The restaurant opens seasonally from 1 April (closed on Mondays), and in summer the terrace at the clubhouse invites you to round off the day in good company.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is €50 on weekdays and €60 on weekends.
