About the Golf Club
Westfälischer Golfclub Gütersloh is located in Rietberg in the Ruhr Area & Westphalia region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility has 18 holes in parkland style. Golf has been played here since 1969.
Location and surroundings
The golf club is located at Gütersloher Straße 127 in Rietberg, embedded in the charming landscape of East Westphalia. Today, on 60 hectares, the golf course and the surrounding nature form a harmonious unit; old oaks and beeches line the fairways. The facility's ponds and wetland biotopes provide a habitat for numerous animal species: roe deer, hares and bird species such as the kingfisher, cuckoo, heron and coot are native here. Nutrient-poor meadows and the Hardrough are a natural part of the East Westphalian landscape of the course.
The course
The course was designed by Dr. Bernhard von Limburger.
The course was extended to 18 holes in spring 1978 and is a parkland design on flat terrain with narrow, tricky fairways and obstacles such as bushes, bunkers and ponds; golf course architect Dr. Bernhard von Limburger was brought in to build the course. Even for top players, the course is a real challenge, true to the motto: “Whoever plays here stays straight”.
Facilities and dining
Practice facilities include a driving range, chipping green, indoor simulator and pro shop. The KLUBHAUS restaurant under head chef and operator Christian Tegeler has a terrace with views of the greens and fairways of holes 9 and 18.
Guests and green fees
The green fee is 65 € on weekdays and 85 € on weekends.
