About the Golf Club
Golf- & Country Club Velderhof is located in Pulheim in the Rhineland region (North Rhine-Westphalia). The facility comprises 27 holes.
Location and Surroundings
Golf- & Country Club Velderhof is located in Pulheim, between Düsseldorf and Cologne, both of which can be reached in around 30 minutes. Quietly and idyllically, the traditional facility was laid out in a protected floodplain landscape with extensive woods; play remains free of motorway, road and airport noise, and the unobstructed view extends into the typical Lower Rhine landscape. Following the course the Rhine once carved into the original landscape, richly populated biotopes and picturesque scenery shape the image of the superbly maintained 27-hole golf facility.
The Course
The course was designed by Dieter R. Sziedat.
Golf course architect Dieter R. Sziedat designed the 27 varied holes on 3 courses, starting in 1997 with the green and yellow courses; from summer 1998, 18 holes were available, after which the red course was built. The flat, open facility offers wide fairways with well-placed fairway bunkers and tactically demanding water hazards, complemented by fast greens.
Facilities and Dining
For practice, a driving range, putting green, chipping green, practice bunker and pro shop are available. In the historic four-sided farmstead, the restaurant "Das Grün" combines rustic charm with an open fireplace and sunny terraces overlooking the greens; the cuisine follows the seasons and the region, and the restaurant is also open to visitors from the surrounding area.
