Location and surroundings
The facility is located in Edlbach in the health resort of Windischgarsten in Upper Austria, just a stone's throw from Kalkalpen National Park. The hotel's own 18-hole golf course stretches across moorland against a backdrop of striking two-thousand-metre peaks. Because the facility sits at an altitude above the fog line, the golf season can be extended while autumn fog already lies all around.
The course
The 18-hole course has a par of 72.
The 18-hole facility is designed so that nine holes each lead out from the clubhouse and back again; ten holes lie on flat terrain and eight across gentle hills with easy climbs and wonderful views. Well-kept fairways and challenging greens define the course, complemented by practice bunkers and covered tee boxes.
Facilities and dining
For practice there is a driving range, practice bunkers and an indoor simulator. At the Golfrestaurant Salettl, only two kilometres from the resort, a fine regional menu and a wonderful panorama terrace await, with views of the surrounding mountains and some of the holes.
